Professional development can fuel your career growth and it can come in many forms, from skill advancement courses to professional networking and leadership opportunities. The benefits of getting engaged in meaningful work are palpable for our professional development. Join us over breakfast at the Ronald McDonald House, to hear more about the value of philanthropy as a young professional and how can impact your professional development opportunities. About our Speakers: Jessica Ubel is the Development Director for our local Ronald McDonald House, focusing her time and energy on community engagement and fundraising. She loves to run, paddle board, hike, and enjoy a great glass of vino with friends. On occasion, you can even find her pouring wine on a Sunday afternoon at Abbelone Vineyard. She also has a husband and kids that are pretty awesome, so she's often on the sideline of a game or watching a theater production. • The Manufacturing Economy of Metro Eugene

Engage with the Eugene City Club. Last year, Eugene was ranked as one of America’s “Top 5 College Towns.” However, while Eugene is a town with a college (or three), it is not simply a “University Town.” According to the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce, Lane County is home to over 500 technology companies, which employ nearly 4,000 people; 173 food and beverage companies, which are expected to grow at nearly twice the rate of the rest of the economy over the next five years; and over 200 wood products manufacturing companies, employing over 7,000 people. During the City Club of Eugene’s 2023-2024 program year, we’ll be hosting a series of programs designed to understand the fullness of Eugene’s economy – its opportunities and challenges, its dynamism and constancy. We’re starting with a conversation about the manufacturing economy of our region, hosted by Arcimoto at its Eugene factory, and featuring three amazing panelists from different sectors within manufacturing. We hope you’ll join us for this in-depth look at a key component of our region’s economy and we hope you’ll stick around for a factory tour and a free test ride in one of Arcimoto’s FUV’s (that’s fun utility vehicle). • Community Summit

Venue 252 252 Lawrence St, Eugene, OR, United States

A local business community is only as strong as the ecosystems of support that exist to promote a healthy economy. These ecosystems might include available and affordable housing, a trained and ready workforce, strong and equitable public safety systems, or access to mental health services. One role we play as a chamber is providing opportunities for our local business leaders to learn about these ecosystems, their impacts on our economy, and opportunities for leadership to right the course. Join us on September 26th as the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the first of many Community Solutions Summit. This morning event to be held at Venue 252, will provide busy business leaders important information about how public safety, homelessness, affordable housing, mental health services, and more are being addressed in our community. This event will host light refreshments for a morning networking opportunity, followed by programming to inform, connect, and inspire local business leaders towards action. Join the movement to make our community safer and to make homelessness in Eugene rare, brief, and non-recurring. REGISTER HERE
