Professional development can fuel your career growth and it can come in many forms, from skill advancement courses to professional networking and leadership opportunities. Those leadership opportunities can also come in many forms: Have you served on a non-profit board, led an organization, or volunteered your time to a cause that’s meaningful to you? The benefits of getting engaged in meaningful work are palpable for our professional development.

Join us over breakfast at the Ronald McDonald House, to hear more about the value of philanthropy as a young professional and how can impact your professional development opportunities.

We will be also raffling off tickets to our 7th Annual Young Professionals Summit. Check out the agenda here: https://eugeneyp.com/summit/

About our Speakers:

  • Jessica Ubel is the Development Director for our local Ronald McDonald House, focusing her time and energy on community engagement and fundraising. She loves to run, paddle board, hike, and enjoy a great glass of vino with friends. On occasion, you can even find her pouring wine on a Sunday afternoon at Abbelone Vineyard. She also has a husband and kids that are pretty awesome, so she’s often on the sideline of a game or watching a theater production. Her Voices are Connector, Creative, Pioneer, she’s an ENFP in Meyers-Briggs and a 7 on the Enneagram. This is her second year being involved with YP and she loves the connections she’s made, and always looking for more!
  • Dana Fleming is the Executive Director of the Eugene Education Foundation. After relocating to Oregon with her family in 2012, Fleming served as the head of fundraising for Adams Elementary’s Parent Teacher Organization and was co-coordinator of PAR, Roosevelt Middle School’s parent organization. She is currently an active member of South Eugene High School’s Parent Council and is a member of the local chapter of Stand for Children’s Strategy Team. She also serves the community through her board positions on the Lane County Cultural Coalition and was a founding board member of ArtCity Eugene. Dana is a 2020 graduate of Leadership Eugene Springfield. She is very excited to bring to EEF her breadth of experience, her commitment to community engagement, and her strong desire to make educational access and opportunities widely available to all students.

About our host: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon & SW Washington provides access to medical care, a home away from home, and a community of support for seriously ill or injured children and their families. Their Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child — not where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night.

YP Engage is a unique, round-table opportunity to learn and discuss a range of civic-minded topics with some of Eugene’s leading community members.
