YP Hustle: How to Be The Board Member Everyone Wants
YP Hustle: How to Be The Board Member Everyone Wants
Join us on Wednesday, December 10 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at Bushnell University’s Goodrich Hall for a practical look at what it takes to be a sought-after board member.
Board service is one of the most powerful ways young professionals can shape their community, elevate their careers, and build meaningful relationships. Be the Board Member Everyone Wants explores how serving on a nonprofit board goes far beyond writing a check, it’s about contributing your time, expertise, curiosity, and leadership to make a real impact. Great board members bring energy, follow-through, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves, and in return they gain access to new networks, mentorship, and a deeper sense of purpose. In this session, we’ll break down what boards actually need, how to contribute even if you’re early in your career, and the habits that turn a “volunteer” into a trusted partner. Whether you aspire to join your first board or want to strengthen your presence on one you already serve, this talk will give you a roadmap for becoming the kind of board member every organization hopes to have.
At the end of the session, you’ll even have the chance to connect with nonprofits that are ready to bring on new board members!
Food and drinks are provided, and parking is free across the street at the Morse Center Lot.
